St . Therese - MTC Colleges

St. Therese-MTC Colleges (ST-MTCC) is a private non-stock, non-sectarian educational institution duly recognized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Department of Education (DepEd).

The College was established in March 4, 1983 by the late founder, Atty. Arturo Arturo A. Sebastian. The institution has three (3) academic campuses located strategically in the heart of Iloilo City and in the Southern part of Iloilo province, namely, the ST-MTCC Magdalo Site in La Paz, Iloilo City, and ST-MTCC La Fiesta Site in Molo, Iloilo City and the ST-MTCC Tigbauan Site in Brgy. Tan Pael, Tigbauan, Iloilo.

St. Therese-MTC Colleges organizational synergy is led by a dynamic, visionary and strong-willed woman, Dr. Ma. Teresa Sebastian Sarabia as the College President and the Chairman of the College Board of Trustees. She is assisted by her son Mr. John Frederick S. Sarabia as Vice President In-charge for Academics and her daughter Ms. Mary Margaret Rose S. Arcenas as the Vice President In-charge for Administration respectively. Under their leadership, there are sufficient number of regularly constituted and qualified officials whose administrative and academic functions are geared towards the attainment and accomplishment of the Institution’s Philosophy, Vision, Mission, Goal and Objectives.

The College offers the following programs: BS in Marine Transportation (BSMT), BS in Marine Engineering (BSMarE), BS in Hospitality Management (BSHM), BS in Tourism Management (BSTM), BS in Business Administration major in Maritime Administration and Leadership, BS in Criminology and various TESDA registered programs under the Tourism Sector. The institution also offers Secondary Education (Junior and Senior High Programs) in all of its three campuses. It has its own Training Center in Tigbauan Site that offers STCW mandated courses and its own Assessment Center accredited by TESDA for hospitality, culinary and ships catering competencies.

In the continual quest for quality education and training, St. Therese-MTC Colleges has three (3) out of five (5) degree program offerings accredited by the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACU-COA) with level III Re-accredited status. The institution is ISO certified since June 1999 under the ISO 9001:1994 standards and up to the present to the latest ISO 9001:2015. The Quality Management System (QMS) in administrative organization includes areas of academics, student services, financial/business, records, administrative performance, institutional planning and development, and the desired outcomes. The overall responsibility for the Administration of the QMS is assumed by the President through the institution’s Quality Management Systems Office.

St. Therese-MTC Colleges has various national and local affiliations to include the Philippine Association of Maritime Institutions (PAMI), Philippine Association of Maritime Training Centers Inc. (PAMTCI) and Association of Administrators in Hospitality, Hotel and Restaurant Management Educational Institutions (AAHRMEI) among others. It also has domestic and international linkages with shipping/manning and hospitality industry partners.

The College officers and personnel work in unison to achieve its institutional PVMGO, core values and different program offering objectives to ensure the correct direction of the institution in the achievement of its strategic goals and objectives as one of the preferred educational institutions in the country.

Each of the Academic sites is fully equipped with complete and state-of-the-art facilities needed by the program and has competent members of the Faculty and Administrative staff to implement the programs.
 
There are a variety of meaningful and fun-filled student activities which provide leadership, socialization, and outreach opportunities.
