There are two goals to this activity. The first is to reuse single-use or non-recyclable plastics as building materials for an eco-shelter. This reduces the plastic wastes that end up in landfills or in our bodies of water. The second is to build an eco-brick shelter/ activity center for the ST-MTCC adopted barangay’s indigenous people located at Barangay 1, Tigbauan. An initial 3,000 Ecobricks were turned over to the local government. We are fortunate to have partnered with the Zonta Club of Metro Iloilo who donated cash of P280,000 and the LGU who sponsored the remaining cash needs of P470,000 to finish the construction of the eco-shelter. The Ceremony was held at Tigbauan Municipal Grounds.
